A website about Japan living, travelling and building a dream life

This is the first post on brusjapan.com

With 20 years experience living in Japan, from big city Osaka to off-grid in the mountains of Okayama, it’s time to put my experience into something useful.

But now is a strange time for an information website since the directory is empty (September 2026). And no good information is posted yet.

Like a food pantry with no food in it, it just doesn’t feel right.

I have an image in mind of a website full of interesting places to visit. And a selection of resources for:

1. Visiting and travelling in Japan.
2. Relocating to Japan,
3. Buying land or houses in Japan. With a focus on rural land.
4. Finding a job in Japan and becoming self employed.

This is the “Dream Life”. Buying land, building a house or buying an old one and renovating it. Working until the transition to full self employment. Which is exactly where I am at now (Living off-grid on my own land in the house I built and making a living self employed working on my land every day. Surrounded by nature).

If this website helps even one person to reach their own “Dream Life”, then I have done the right thing in building this site.

It’s a big gap to be filled. From empty website to ultimate Japan resource.
