Kama-Asa Cooking Tools | 釜浅商店 かっぱ橋打刃物
Anchoring the entrance of Tokyo’s world-famous Kappabashi Kitchen Tool Town since 1908, Kama-Asa Shoten (釜浅商店) lives by the guiding philosophy that ‘Good tools are created with good reason.’
Divided into two stunning modern timber storefronts, one side is dedicated to artisan culinary knives engraved on-site with your name in Japanese kanji, while the sister building showcases hand-hammered Yamada iron woks, cast-iron sukiyaki pots, and ceramic Shichirin charcoal grills.
Bruce’s Lived Experience Note: Purchasing a hand-hammered iron skillet from Kama-Asa is a lifetime investment. The staff explain seasoning and maintenance with deep culinary expertise, and the custom kanji chisel-engraving on their chef knives is done with breathtaking precision right before your eyes.
