Kurashiki Glass Studio | 倉敷ガラス 工芸セレクト
Born out of Japan’s Mingei (Folk Art) movement under the guidance of visionary ceramic master Keisuke Serizawa, Kurashiki Glass (倉敷ガラス) was created in northern Okayama by legendary glassblower Shinzo Kotani in the late 1960s.
Characterized by its soothing, translucent turquoise blue (*Kurashiki Blue*) and moss-green hues, each heavy drinking glass, pitcher, and sake carafe is shaped purely by breath and hand tools without molds, giving it a distinctive organic weight and tiny air bubbles catching the sunlight.
